Having problems listening to the podcast? Here are some helpful tips for enjoying the show.
Todays Wilderness is an MP3 file which is compatible with todays industry standards for quailty audio formats online. Most computers are by default equipped to load and play mp3 files. Internet Explorer comes equipped with Windows Media Player which will buffer and stream the podcast instantly. Some computer users change their default values for the program that handles specific files. Listeners using QuickTime, or RealPlayer, as their default mp3 player should also have no problem listening or downloading our podcast files. If you need either of these players keep reading. We’ve included the links below. The amount of time and the speed at which this information is downloaded and streamed depends highly on your internet conection speed. Listeners on a high speed access will obviously download and stream the audio much quicker than those on a dial-up system.
Rather not stream the file? Perhaps you’d like to download the podcast and listen to it on a portable device in the comfort of your favorite chair, office, or vehicle. No problem. Simply right click on the download icon and save the show to your computer in your desired location. Listeners browsing the site with the Firefox browser will be prompted to download and save the file. It’s a built-in feature for that particular browser and the same technique as previously mentioned applies.
Our podcast shows vary in length so the size of the file, and download or streaming time, will also vary. There’s no need to hang around and wait for your file to finish once you’ve begun the streaming or downloading process. You can easily minimize the player or download window and continue surfing. The podcast will either play as you continue to search the internet or download, depending on the choice you’ve made.
