Archives for January, 2009

Happy New Year and welcome to the January podcast at Today’s Wilderness, where my guest is Steve Scott from the Whitetail Institute of North America. Steve and I discuss the history of the Institute in our first segment and how this incredible research organization came to be. In our second segment we talk about some of the staple products offered and basic requirements and recommendations straight from the folks who are the pioneers in the food plot phase of wildlife management. In segment three Steve talks about new products and up and coming areas of development to round out the show.

I think you will find the information not only informative, but Steve’s personality and style engaging and authoritative. We had a great time producing this installment and hope you enjoy it as much as we did and, as always, enjoy your outdoor resources.

Welcome to our first podcast where my special guest is Jim Bruner, owner of Water and Woods Network. Todays Wilderness is an affiliate site of Water and Woods Network along with a list of other outdoor sites catering to the avid outdoorsperson. We wanted to introduce you to the breadth of offerings that many may have never realized we have available.

In our podcast Jim and I discuss the various offerings of the sites within the network, we talk about Jim and what brought him to where he is today, his influences and what drives the man behind the scenes. We then discuss some of the favorite “deer hunting tips and techniques” that we have come to appreciate over the years and finally a discussion of some of the better “myths” we have had the opportunity to confirm or deny.

A great show that we had a lot of fun putting together. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.

The study was an attempt to associate the pre-attack activity of the perpetrating animal in a known attack situation in contrast to those that ended in bluff scenarios. Read More
